Angron is the Daemon Primarch of Khorne, the Blood God, and the progenitor of the World Eaters Traitor Legion. His story is one of unimaginable suffering, forced servitude, and ultimately, a descent into an unending, consuming fury that defines his very existence.

The Lord of the Red Sands: Discovered on the slave world of Nuceria, Angron was not found as a general leading armies, but as a gladiatorial slave, forced to fight and kill for the amusement of his cruel overlords. Implanted with horrific psycho-surgical devices known as the Butcher's Nails, his brain was constantly flooded with agonising rage and pain, only dulled by the act of extreme violence. He became the greatest gladiator the world had ever known, his name synonymous with death in the arena.

When the Emperor arrived to retrieve him, Angron refused to abandon his fellow slaves, who were mounting a final, doomed rebellion against their masters. The Emperor, in an act of cold pragmatism, teleported Angron away, leaving his "brothers" to die. This act of abandonment, seen by Angron as the ultimate betrayal, cemented his seething hatred for the Emperor and for any form of authority.

The World Eaters and the Butcher's Nails: Reunited with his Legion, the XIIth, who he renamed the World Eaters, Angron found them too disciplined for his tastes. In a move of horrifying cruelty and misguided love, he forced the Tech-Priests to replicate and implant the Butcher's Nails into his own Space Marines, condemning them to the same agony and bloodlust that consumed him. This transformed the World Eaters into the rabid, berserking killers they became, their strategic finesse replaced by a singular, overwhelming desire for close-quarters slaughter.

The Heresy and Daemonhood: During the Horus Heresy, Angron eagerly sided with Horus, seeing it as an opportunity to unleash his hatred upon the Imperium. His Legion became the spearhead of many brutal assaults, wading through oceans of blood.

His transformation into a Daemon Primarch was engineered by Lorgar Aurelian, the Primarch of the Word Bearers. During the Shadow Crusade, Angron was on the verge of dying from the cumulative strain of the Butcher's Nails, which were never meant for a Primarch's physiology. To save him (and, in Lorgar's twisted view, to fulfill his destiny), Lorgar performed a dark ritual, sacrificing thousands of lives to Khorne. Angron's dying rage and the torrent of blood shed were enough to earn him Khorne's "blessing," transforming him into a monstrous, winged Daemon Primarch of Khorne.

Appearance & Armaments (Daemon Primarch): As a Daemon Primarch, Angron is a truly terrifying and colossal entity, even larger and more muscular than his already immense mortal form:

• Titanic Physique: He stands far taller than any Space Marine or even other Daemon Primarchs, his body a mass of corded muscle, often depicted with dark red skin and jagged, volcanic scales.
• Horns & Wings: His head is adorned with massive, often curving or pointed horns, and he possesses immense, leathery, bat-like wings that allow him to fly through the void and crash down onto battlefields like a meteor.
• Gorechild & Gorerunner: He wields a pair of enormous, daemon-bound axes. His primary weapon is Gorechild, a chainaxe of monstrous proportions, its teeth dripping with warp energy and the blood of countless foes. He often carries a second, similarly brutal weapon called Gorerunner.
• Aura of Rage: His presence radiates a palpable aura of pure, unadulterated rage, driving both his followers and sometimes even his enemies into a berserk frenzy.

Personality & Motivations: Angron is defined by his unending rage and pain. The Butcher's Nails continue to afflict him even in daemonhood, and his existence is a constant torment, which he can only temporarily alleviate through acts of extreme violence.

• Unending Hatred: His hatred for the Emperor, for Nuceria, for any form of control, and ultimately for his own existence, burns eternally.
• Pure Bloodlust: He exists to kill, maim, and burn. There is no strategy, no cunning, only the desire to shed blood for the Blood God.
• Tragic Figure: Beneath the endless rage lies the ghost of the noble, compassionate warrior who fought for his slave-brothers. His daemonhood is a grim mockery of what he once was, a perpetual torture that he inflicts upon the galaxy in turn.

Role in the 41st Millennium: Angron is Khorne's most active and fearsome champion, a living weapon of mass destruction. He periodically bursts forth from the Eye of Terror, leading vast legions of World Eaters, Daemons, and cultists in apocalyptic crusades of slaughter across the galaxy. Worlds burn, populations are butchered, and rivers of blood flow wherever Angron manifests, all to feed the endless hunger of the Blood God. He is a truly apocalyptic force, signifying nothing but total war and annihilation.
