Orikan the Diviner is one of the most unique and enigmatic figures among the Necron Crypteks. He is a master astromancer, renowned for his chillingly accurate predictions of future events and his ability to manipulate time itself.

Background and Biotransference: In his former life as a Necrontyr, Orikan served as the chief astromancer and a trusted advisor in the court of the Silent King Szarekh during the tumultuous War in Heaven. Uniquely among his peers, Orikan foresaw the devastating, soul-destroying cost of biotransference and vehemently opposed allying with the C'tan. Despite his dire warnings, his counsel was ignored. When the time came for biotransference, Necron lords, recognizing his immense value, dragged him in chains to the bio-furnaces. He ultimately submitted to the process out of a twisted sense of loyalty, becoming a soulless Necron in a body of living metal that paradoxically amplified his already formidable reality-bending powers.

Abilities and Reputation: Orikan's primary ability lies in his unparalleled skill at divining future events by reading the patterns of the stars. He has foreseen monumental galactic events, including the Fall of the Eldar, the rise of the Imperium, the Horus Heresy, the Great Rift, and even the Tyranid invasions, millions of years before they occurred.

What makes Orikan truly dangerous is his ability to compensate for any perceived errors in his predictions. He can travel back in time, either to subtly manipulate events to align with his visions or to inform his past self of necessary actions. However, this temporal meddling often carries unforeseen and significant consequences.

His peers, including even powerful Overlords, tolerate his mocking and insolent demeanor due to his unmatched utility. While few trust him fully, his predictive capabilities are too valuable to ignore. Orikan keeps his ultimate schemes shrouded in secrecy, aiming to align celestial bodies to facilitate his transformation into a being of pure celestial energy, capable of manipulating time on a galactic scale through intricate temporal traps.

Key Incidents:

• Helios Incident: To fulfill a complex prophecy, Orikan retroactively engineered a Necron ambush on Helios 6 (or Helios 5/Heli06 in some accounts), which nearly annihilated the Silver Skulls' 4th Company. While he successfully reclaimed sectors, this act provoked the furious revenge of several Space Marine chapters, including the Silver Skulls, Death Specters, and Howling Griffons, who subsequently destroyed his originating tomb world in the Lazar system.
• Conflict with Trazyn the Infinite: Orikan once located a dangerous stasis tomb emitting a madness-inducing signal. However, his rival, Trazyn the Infinite, seized the opportunity to trap Orikan inside with a Genestealer and a C'tan shard of the Deceiver. Orikan spent over two millennia digging his way out, desperately trying to alter his fate through time manipulation, only to fail. This protracted ordeal ultimately forced a reluctant reconciliation between Orikan and Trazyn, brokered by the Deceiver shard.

Orikan's ultimate ambition is to elevate the Necron race to a C'tan-like energy form, scorning the petty infighting of the Necron nobility in favor of achieving cosmic power. Despite his immense ego and frequent temporal meddling, his schemes often have unexpected and dramatic backfires, making him a perpetual wildcard in the Necron dynasties.
