The Aeldari Autarch is a highly customizable HQ leader unit for Craftworld Aeldari (Asuryani) armies in Warhammer 40,000, known for their strategic brilliance and mastery of various Aspect Warrior paths.

Lore and Role: Autarchs are veteran Aeldari who have walked many of the "Paths of the Warrior," gaining experience and wargear from different Aspect Warrior shrines such as Howling Banshees, Warp Spiders, or Fire Dragons. Unlike other Aeldari who might become consumed by a single Path, Autarchs have the mental discipline to draw upon their vast martial knowledge and ascend to the "Path of Command." They become supreme strategists, leading Craftworld warhosts with swift, decisive, and reactive tactics, inspiring their forces with their leadership.

Gameplay Rules (10th Edition): In the 10th edition of Warhammer 40,000, Autarchs provide significant leadership and combat buffs:

• Unit Leadership: When leading Howling Banshees, they grant the unit the "Fights First" ability. They can also enhance Storm Guardians with re-rolls on flamer attacks and fusion gun damage.
• Relics and Enhancements: Autarchs can be equipped with various powerful relics:
  • Phoenix Gem: Allows the Autarch to return to the battlefield with full wounds on a 2+ D6 roll at the end of the phase after being destroyed (ASURYANI only).
  • Blaze of Vaul: Grants re-rolls of 1 for Hit, Wound, and Damage rolls for the bearer's attacks (ASURYANI only).
  • Shimmering Aegis: Provides an extra "Battle Focus" token at the start of the battle round.
  • Oracle of the Silent Stars: Allows the deployment of two Guardian units in the Entry Zone instead of one.
• Base Stats: Autarchs typically have abilities that allow them to re-roll Hit, Wound, and Damage rolls of 1 for their own attacks.

Models and Customization: Aeldari Autarch models are highly customizable:

• Standard Autarch Kit: The plastic kit offers a wide array of options for heads, torsos, and wargear, including various shuriken weapons, fusion pistols, and power swords. These parts are often cross-compatible with other Aeldari kits.
• Autarch Wayleaper: This variant is equipped with Swooping Hawk wings, a fusion pistol, and an Aeldari sword, allowing for enhanced aerial mobility.
• Newer Models: Recent releases, such as those from the Eldritch Omens set, have introduced new sculpts and options, including Aspect-specific gear inspired by Warp Spiders or Striking Scorpions, while maintaining compatibility with older kits. Limited edition variants have also been revealed.

Autarchs are valuable and flexible leaders who can be tailored to complement various Aspect Warrior or Guardian units, providing synergistic buffs and strategic advantages on the battlefield.
