TAG     : Warhammer Age of Sigma Gloomspite Gitz Catapult

GAME :  Age of Sigma

In the chaotic and whimsical world of Age of Sigmar, the Gloomspite Gitz stand out as a faction of mischievous and malevolent creatures, including Grots, Squigs, and their larger, more formidable allies. Among their arsenal of bizarre and unpredictable weaponry, the Gloomspite Gitz Catapult serves as a key piece of artillery, embodying the erratic nature of its creators.

Overview

The Gloomspite Gitz Catapult is a crude yet effective siege weapon, designed to launch a variety of projectiles at their enemies. This artillery piece is not just a tool of war; it is a reflection of the Gitz's chaotic and whimsical approach to battle. Often constructed from scavenged materials and adorned with the trappings of their bizarre culture, these catapults are as much a symbol of their madness as they are a means of destruction.

Design and Functionality

The Gloomspite Gitz Catapult is characterized by its:

Rudimentary Construction: Made from wood, metal scraps, and other found materials, the catapult has a haphazard appearance, often painted in vibrant colors that reflect the Gitz's love for the absurd.

Versatile Projectiles: The catapult can launch a variety of projectiles, including:

Squig Bombs: Live Squigs are often used as ammunition, hurled into enemy ranks to create chaos and destruction. These creatures bounce and explode upon impact, causing havoc among foes.
Mushroom Spores: The Gitz may also launch barrels filled with toxic spores, creating a cloud of noxious gas that can disorient and damage enemies.
Boulders and Debris: In a pinch, the Gitz will hurl whatever they can find, from rocks to bits of scrap, showcasing their resourcefulness and unpredictability.

Tactics and Strategy

The Gloomspite Gitz Catapult is typically used to:

Disrupt Enemy Lines: By launching Squig Bombs or other projectiles, the catapult can break enemy formations, causing panic and confusion.

Support Ground Troops: The catapult provides ranged support for advancing Gitz forces, softening up targets before a full assault.

Psychological Warfare: The sheer unpredictability of the catapult’s projectiles can instill fear in opponents, as they never know what might come flying their way.

Notable Variants

While the standard Gloomspite Gitz Catapult is a fearsome weapon, there are notable variants that enhance its capabilities:

The Squig Catapult: A more specialized version that focuses on launching Squigs, often equipped with additional mechanisms to increase the distance and accuracy of its shots.

The Doom Diver Catapult: A variant that features a Gitz strapped to a Squig, launched into the air to crash down on enemies, combining both artillery and aerial assault.

Conclusion

The Gloomspite Gitz Catapult is a testament to the chaotic ingenuity of the Gloomspite Gitz. With its whimsical design and unpredictable projectiles, it embodies the spirit of madness that defines this faction. As they unleash their bizarre artillery upon the battlefield, the Gloomspite Gitz remind all who face them that in the realms of chaos, anything can happen—and often does. Whether launching Squigs or mushroom spores, the catapult serves as a crucial tool in the Gitz's relentless pursuit of mischief and mayhem.

This multipart plastic kit builds a Doom Diver Catapult, a gleefully savage piece of artillery for your Gloomspite Gitz armies in games of Warhammer Age of Sigmar. These truly bizarre creations fling live grots into the air, who then plummet down into enemy units in the hopes of wreaking destruction where they fall – they're ideal for adding some heavy firepower to your Gitmob.

The catapult can be built with the doom diver in the process of being launched, or stood waiting for the contraption to fire. Each of the crew comes with a choice of two heads, and the doom diver has a choice of three bomb-topped hats, making it easy to customise your artillery.

This kit comprises 64 plastic components and 1x Citadel 170mm by 109mm Oval Base. This miniature requires assembly and is supplied unpainted – we recommend using Citadel Plastic Glue and Citadel Colour paints.
